ALPHA FOR MICROSOFT EXCEL

An Excel expert inside your workbook

Open Alpha from Excel's Home ribbon. Read the range you choose, ask for formulas or analysis, build dashboard and automation solutions, and review controlled VBA before Alpha backs up and applies it.

Windows desktop Excel preview. Uses your existing Alpha account and credits. Marketplace distribution follows after Microsoft review.

Range

Works with selected cells

Alpha reads only the range the user explicitly shares and shows the exact address and bounded preview before it is sent.

FX

Professional formulas

Creates and explains formulas with version assumptions, structured references, edge-case checks and an explicit Insert formula action.

BI

Power Query, DAX and Power BI

Designs production-ready M, star schemas, measures, KPIs, charts, PivotTables and Power BI models with refresh, performance, data-quality and reconciliation checks.

VBA

Controlled direct VBA

The side pane previews Alpha-owned modules, procedures and higher-impact capabilities. The local companion backs up the workbook, applies approved modules, runs approved tests and returns evidence.

Install the preview

  1. 1

    Verify and unblock the ZIP

Download Alpha for Excel and compare its SHA-256 with the alpha-excel-addin.zip entry in the release checksum file. Before extracting, right-click the verified ZIP, select Properties → Unblock → Apply if Unblock is shown, and then extract it. Keep Smart App Control enabled. If you already extracted it, unblock the ZIP first and extract a fresh folder. Why Windows blocks downloaded scripts.

  2. 2

    Register the Excel add-in

Close every Excel window. Double-click Install Alpha for Excel.cmd, then reopen Excel. Select Home → Add-ins → More Add-ins → Developer Add-ins → Alpha for Excel.

  3. 3

    Connect Direct VBA

Install or update the Windows Office Companion, enable Trust access to the VBA project object model, and keep the macro-enabled workbook open. Alpha asks before every VBA operation and creates a backup first.
