PRIVACY POLICY
Alpha Copilot privacy policy
Last updated: 11 October 2026. This policy covers the Alpha Copilot Chrome extension, the public Alpha website and the part of the Alpha Agentic AI Advisor service that the extension talks to (the "Alpha service", at alpha-agentic-ai-advisor.vercel.app). It explains what stays on your computer, what is sent to us, and what we do and do not do with it.
Who is responsible
The Alpha Copilot extension and the Alpha service are provided by Alpha Agentic AI Advisor ("Alpha", "we", "us"), operated by the owner of alpha-agentic-ai-advisor.vercel.app. Alpha is the party that decides how the personal data described below is handled. For any question or request about your data, write to linleycrypto37@gmail.com. The extension is published on the Chrome Web Store as "Alpha Copilot".
The short version
- Your documents, chats, checklists and skills are stored in your browser, not on our servers.
- When you ask a question, the text needed to answer it is sent through the Alpha service to our AI provider, Anthropic, and the reply comes back. We do not save the text of your questions, your document excerpts or the pages you share.
- When you rate an answer or the read-aloud voice, the rating is sent to us so we can improve Copilot. It is the rating, the suggestion you type under a thumbs-down if you type one, and a few facts about the answer. It never includes the question or the answer itself. You can switch this off, and delete what you sent, in Settings → Help improve Copilot.
- We keep a small usage record (how many tokens and credits a request used) so we can bill your plan.
- We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or use it to decide credit or loans.
- Browser control only runs when you switch it on, shows what it is doing, and you can stop it at any time. It never types passwords, card numbers or one-time codes.
What stays in your browser
Alpha Copilot keeps the following in your Chrome profile (IndexedDB and extension storage). It is not uploaded in bulk and is removed if you use Settings → Delete all local data or uninstall the extension:
- documents you add to the knowledge base, their extracted text and the search index built from them;
- your chats, checklists and application skills;
- your connection token, settings, the list of sites you chose "Always allow" for, and daily counters for automatic actions;
- your saved prompts and scheduled tasks, including the result summary of each scheduled run;
- pictures you paste, drop or add to a message, as part of that chat;
- the thumbs-up and thumbs-down ratings (and the reason you pick) you give to answers, and your Read aloud voice and speed. Ratings are also sent to Alpha unless you switch that off (see "Ratings and feedback" below);
- files you attach so Copilot can upload them to a page. They are kept in memory only while the panel is open and are not sent to Alpha or the AI provider.
If you install the optional Windows folder helper, it reads the folder you choose read-only on your computer. The extracted text is stored in your browser like any other document.
If you install the optional Windows Office Companion, the selected workbook path, generated VBA, backup path and returned Excel test evidence stay between Alpha for Excel or the extension and the local companion. The companion does not send workbook files or their contents to Alpha's server. Any workbook details you choose to include in an AI request follow the chat rules below.
What is sent to the Alpha service, and why
| When | What is sent | Why |
|---|---|---|
| You send a message | Your message and the conversation so far; the few passages (up to six) from your knowledge base that match the question; checklist details if you are using a checklist. In Alpha for Excel, bounded values and formulas from the selected range are included only when you explicitly read the selection and leave Include selection enabled. | To generate the answer. |
| You switch on This page | The text of the page you are viewing (title, address, selected text and page text). | To answer questions about that page. |
| You switch on Browser control | What the assistant reads on the page it is working on (visible text and the names of buttons and fields) and the results of its clicks and typing. | To carry out the task you asked for. |
| You paste, drop or add a picture to a message | The picture, shrunk in your browser to at most 1,568 pixels on its longest side, together with your message. It can show anything that is in the picture. Only your two most recent pictures are sent again with later messages. | So the assistant can look at it and answer. |
| The assistant takes a screenshot (Browser control only) | A reduced-size picture of the part of the page you can see, which can include anything shown on that page. Only the two most recent pictures are kept in the chat. | To understand pages that text alone does not explain, such as charts and images. |
| The assistant reads the page's console (Browser control only) | Console error and warning messages and the addresses (without query strings) of failed requests from that page, recorded only after you or the assistant ask for it. | To help diagnose a problem on a page. |
| You rate an answer or the read-aloud voice (thumbs up or down) | The rating; the suggestion you type in the box that opens under a thumbs-down (optional); the extension version; which features were involved in that answer (for example browser control, a picture, a screenshot, read aloud); how many characters the answer had; and for a voice rating the voice name and speed. Never the text of your question, the text of the answer, or any picture. | So the Alpha team can see what works and what does not, and improve answers and the voice. |
| You connect or use Copilot | Your connection token (a random code that starts with "alp_"). | To tell the Alpha service which account the request belongs to. |
The Alpha service passes these requests to Anthropic's API to produce the reply and streams it back to you. Anthropic processes the content to provide the response under its own terms. Opening the panel checks your connection (your token only). Apart from that nothing is sent until you ask something, and the extension does not read pages in the background.
What we keep on our servers
- Your Alpha account details (name, email address, plan), which you gave when you signed up for the Alpha service.
- A usage record for each request: your account, the time, and the number of input and output tokens and credits used. It contains no message text.
- Connection tokens: only a one-way hash of each token, a label, and when it was created and last used. You can disconnect Copilot in its Settings, and you can revoke connections on the Copilot page of the website.
- Ratings and feedback you choose to send (see "Ratings and feedback" below): your account, the time and the details listed in the table above. They are kept for up to 12 months.
- Our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs (such as time, address and size of a request). These are used to run and secure the service.
Public website analytics
The public Alpha website uses Google Analytics to understand which pages are visited and whether the website is working well. When you visit a page that includes analytics, Google may receive technical information such as the page address, referring page, browser and device type, interaction time and an approximate region derived from your network address. This website analytics does not include the text of your Copilot chats, uploaded documents, knowledge-base passages or checklist contents.
You can limit this collection through your browser's cookie and tracking controls or a compatible analytics opt-out tool. Google processes analytics data under its own privacy terms.
Browser control and "Always allow"
Browser control lets the assistant open pages, click, type and scroll on a tab you pointed it at. It asks you before anything that sends, posts, submits, buys or deletes. If you choose Always allow for a site, Copilot stops asking for ordinary actions on that site until you remove it under Settings → Always allowed. Even then it still asks for purchases, payments, deleting, security and access changes, agreeing to terms, anything that includes a link, email address or phone number in typed text, and it spaces out and limits automatic messages and posts. You are responsible for what you ask Copilot to do on other websites and for following those websites' rules.
Read aloud
The speaker icon under an answer reads it aloud using the voices built into your browser or operating system. No key or account is needed. Depending on the voice (for example the online voices in Chrome or Edge), the company that makes your browser or operating system may process the text to produce the audio. Alpha does not receive the text or the audio.
Ratings and feedback
Under every answer there are thumbs up and thumbs down, and after an answer has been read aloud you can rate how the voice sounded. These ratings are sent to the Alpha service so we can see which answers help and which do not, and improve Copilot and its voice. This is on by default and you can turn it off at any time in Settings → Help improve Copilot; ratings are then kept only in your browser.
- What is sent: only what the table above lists. Your question, the answer and pictures are never sent. What you type in the suggestion box is sent as you typed it, so please do not put personal or confidential details in it.
- Who sees it: the Alpha team, in the owner dashboard. We may also give the written suggestions (without e-mail addresses or account details) to our AI provider, Anthropic, and ask it to judge which are worth acting on, so we can decide what to change.
- What we do with it: we read the suggestions and the AI's assessment and may write short instructions that are added to Copilot's answers for all customers (for example "keep answers shorter"). Feedback is never used to train a model, and one customer's feedback is never shown to another customer.
- Deleting it: Settings → Help improve Copilot → Delete the ratings I've shared removes everything your account has sent. Taking back a thumb also removes that rating. Anything left is deleted after 12 months.
Scheduled tasks, uploads and notifications
A scheduled task is a saved prompt that Copilot runs by itself at a time you choose, while Chrome is open. It opens its own browser windows, works with the same safeguards as Browser control (it asks you by notification when it needs an approval, and never enters passwords), and reports the result in a notification. Each run uses your credits. Closing the task window stops it.
When you attach a file and approve an upload, the file goes only to the page you approved, through your own browser. Files that look like keys or credentials cannot be attached.
Notifications are used only to tell you that a long task finished, that a scheduled task finished or needs your OK, or that a scheduled run was missed while Chrome was closed.
Alpha for Excel and Direct Excel Apply
Alpha for Excel is an Excel task-pane add-in. It accesses the workbook only when you use an add-in command. It can read a bounded selected range after you click Read selection, place a reviewed formula in the selected cell, or write an approved result to an Alpha Output sheet.
The optional Windows Office Companion works locally with a macro-enabled workbook that you selected and already opened in desktop Excel. Before a VBA operation, Alpha shows the generated modules, procedures and detected higher-impact capabilities and requires your approval. The companion creates a timestamped backup, replaces only modules beginning Alpha_, runs only the approved procedures and returns local test evidence. It does not lower Excel's macro-security settings. It accepts requests only on this computer through a loopback address and only from the production Alpha website with its required request header.
The preview companion is not code-signed. Windows or your organisation may warn or block it. Review the included source and SHA256 and follow your organisation's software-installation policy.
Why the extension asks for each permission
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Side panel | The chat lives in Chrome's side panel. |
| Storage and unlimited storage | To keep your knowledge base, chats, skills and settings in your browser. |
| Active tab, scripting and tabs | To read the page you chose to share, and to open pages, click, type and scroll when you switch on Browser control. |
| Access to all websites (optional) | Requested only when you switch on "This page" or Browser control, so Copilot can work on the site you are using. |
| Context menus | The right-click shortcuts "Ask Alpha Copilot about…" and "Summarise this page". |
| Alarms | To start your scheduled tasks at the time you set. |
| Notifications | To tell you when a long or scheduled task finishes, needs your OK, or was missed. |
| Native messaging | To talk to the optional Windows folder helper and Office Companion that you install yourself. The Office Companion performs only the workbook operation you preview and approve. |
| Alpha website | To send requests to the Alpha service and to receive your connection from the Copilot page. |
